Paris Hilton is seemingly set to relaunch her pop career.
The 29-year-old socialite met up with acclaimed songwriter Linda Perry – who is responsible for Christina Aguilera’s Beautiful and Gwen Stefani’s What You Waiting For?, among other tracks – sparking speculation she is planning a follow-up to her 2006 LP Paris.
Hilton revealed the news on Twitter, writing: “Went and visited Linda Perry at her studio. She is so cool and her studio is incredible. I respect her so much as a producer, what a talent.”
Stars Are Blind, the first single from Hilton, was an international smash hit upon its release, reaching the top five in the British, Italian, Swedish and Canadian charts.
Even Lady Gaga admitted she was a fan of the song. Read more… »
The socialite – who ended her 14-month romance with reality TV star Doug Reinhardt in April – insists she just wants to be on her own and have fun.
In an interview on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’, she said: “I don’t really want to date anyone yet. I just want to hang out with my friends and my family and enjoy life and focus on my work.”
I don’t really want to date anyone yet. I just want to hang out with my friends and my family and enjoy life and focus on my work.
Despite her single vow, the 29-year-old star admitted she enjoyed having dinner with her ex-boyfriend Jason Shaw – who she dated from 2001 to 2003 – last week, and hinted something romantic could happen between them again.
She added: “I was with someone I was with, like, years ago back in the day. We’ll see what happens. I love him so much. We’re very close and I’ve known him a very long time.”
Investors in Paris Hilton’s Pledge This! are demanding the hotel princess to pay them back.
Paris Hilton starred in Pledge This!, where she played Victoria English in the comedy movie. According to Access Hollywood, the court is forcing Hilton to repay the sum she pocketed after making the 2006 flop, which also starred Carmen Electra.
The investors claimed that Hilton failed to properly promote the movie and instead was promoting herself. As a defense in court, the attorney from the investors side claimed that she is not an actress but rather a celebrity, and celebrities only promote themselves.
Film investors also claimed she ignored at least nine requests for interviews as well as other key promotional events, therefore violating her contract. Some included refusals to appear on popular talk shows, radio and press interviews in the US, UK, Japan, Russia, and Germany.
As a result, they blamed Hilton for the huge loss in the movie which only made £2.7 million and was screened in only 25 cinemas.
In 2009, the investors tried to sue Hilton for $8.3 million but were overthrown by US District Judge Federico Moreno. Now, they are attempting to get back a portion of her $1 million paycheck.
Hilton recently failed to show up in court, claiming that she has already given her testimonies and has fulfilled her contract. However, the investors believe otherwise. They believe that Hilton didn’t give it her all, partly because she disliked some parts of the movie.
Hilton’s attorney Michael Weinstein spoke on her behalf and stated that she has met many request from the film’s producers and was sometimes unable to meet their demands due to her hectic schedule.
It is unclear whether Judge Moreno would accept this claim from the investors.
Paris Hilton has reportedly said that she is “better off” without ex-boyfriend Doug Reinhardt.
The Simple Life star recently confirmed that she had separated from Reinhardt earlier this month, following rumours that their romance was over.
Speaking to Us Weekly, she said: “I just realised that I’m better off without him. So I ended it because I deserve something much better. He wasn’t right for me and I will eventually find somebody who loves me for who I am.”
The 29-year-old continued to say that she is “too busy” to begin a new relationship and is “having so much fun” being single.
“A lot of guys have obviously hit on me and I am getting thousands of calls, but I’m not ready to be with anyone,” she said.
Hilton and Reinhardt had been together for around 14 months.
After multiple conflicting reports about the status of Paris Hilton and boyfriend Doug Reinhardt’s relationship, it’s official: They have split.
Hilton, 29, and Reinhardt, 24, broke up “weeks ago,” her rep confirmed Thursday. “The relationship between Paris and Doug is over. She broke up with him more than two weeks ago.”
The hotel heiress and Reinhardt had been dating for the past 14 months.
The couple ended their relationship once before, last June, but later reconciled.
Earlier this week, Hilton brushed aside buzz that she was getting cozy at a club with Kim Kardashian’s ex-boyfriend Reggie Bush, writing on Twitter, “Aside from being @ the same club, Reggie and I didn’t even say hi to each other. I was there with my sister and friends. “
Paris Hilton has confirmed she has broken up with Doug Reinhardt.
The couple, who appeared together at numerous events including the Venice Film Festival, had been dating for 14 months but are no longer together.
A spokesperson for the hotel heiress told MTV.com: “The relationship between Paris and Doug is over – she broke up with him more than two weeks ago.”
Doug, who has appeared on The Hills, insisted the break-up is amicable.
According to Contact Music, he said: “Paris and I met at her house last night and have decided to split. It’s unfortunate that things are being said about us that are inaccurate. I continue to wish her only the best.”
Paris, who had openly spoken of her intention to marry Doug, previously dated Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden and Greek shipping heirs Paris Latsis and Stavros Niarchos III.
