Paris Hilton, birthplace of the term “Celebutante,” is finally growing
up. From presitgious boarding schools where she shared the same
hallways with Lady Gaga to a budding film career, with her most
memorable scenes appearing in the Paris Hilton sex tape, everyone’s
favorite heiress is fianlly growing up. Following her recent stint in
the tank for drunk driving, Hilton even took the time to have a script
smuggled in so she could practice for a part. She’s also getting back
into the music industry with a new House record produced by Afrojack and
Red Foo of LMFAO.
If her new album is finished within the next couple of months, we
wonder if there’s a chance she’ll open on any of this summer’s Coldplay tour dates.
In addition to her movie and music careers, Paris has 35 stores, 17
product lines, 14 fragrances, a racing team and a chain of beach clubs
which have helped her to quietly rack up $1.3 billion in earnings over
the past six years. Not bad for a celbutante.

To follow on from her perfume line, shoes were sure to be her next industry to conquer, and that’s exactly what Paris aims to do.

On her official Paris Hilton Footwear Line Collection website, the heiress says her pumps are ‘perfect for the fashion forward young woman who want to look and feel great from head to toe, without spending a fortune.’

She says her line is ‘chic and trendy’ and cost between $60 (£38) and $160 (£100)

Paris added: ‘I personally chose the styling, design, materials and colours for the line and also wanted to make sure it was super comfortable.’

But soon after she posed alongside the array of coloured stilettos, Paris jetted back to Los Angeles to dine at her favourite eatery, Katsuya restaurant.

Paris Hilton is being sued for allegedly wearing someone else’s hair.

A company that manufactures hair extensions claimed the 29-year-old socialite breached her contract to wear and promote their product when she sported the fake locks of a competitor in 2008.

Hairtech International is seeking 35 million US dollars in damages – 10 times what she was apparently paid under the contract.

The fraud and breach-of-contract suit cites the heiress’ partying as contrary to Hairtech’s marketing campaign.

The Los Angeles filing also claims Paris missed a launch party for the hair extension line because she was serving a stint in jail in 2007.

Paris served 23 days in 2007 after she was caught driving twice on a suspended licence while on probation for reckless driving.

The filing states the company has lost 6.6 million dollars on the launch party alone, although a jury or judge will have to decide whether Paris owes any money if the case goes to trial.

Paris Hilton is enjoying being a single lady.

The hotel heiress, who split up with boyfriend Doug Reinhardt earlier this year, said she’s been using her time wisely.

“I’m so happy right now – I’m spending time with my girlfriends and my sister and my family and just really getting to know myself; I’ve always had a boyfriend, so right now it’s really important for me just to focus on me and my life and not really put all that energy into someone else,” she told Heat.

“I’m having the time of my life – I didn’t know I could be this happy. And it’s really hard in my position just being in a relationship, because so much goes along with it.”

Paris reckons it’s better to date someone who’s not in the media spotlight.

“The media are constantly making up stories and it’s hard to know if you can trust a guy who has fame, because you don’t know. I’d rather be with someone who’s not in the public eye – I think it just makes it easier, and I don’t know there’s so much that comes along with it. I’d rather be with someone who’s not in this world,” she said.

The socialite has finished recording a dance album, which was inspired by Kylie Minogue.

“She’s one of my favourite artists,” Paris explained.

“I wanted my music to emulate her. I love her sound and I love the way she is, so I was inspired by her.”

The maxi dress trend just keeps on going and Paris Hilton is the latest A-lister to be spotted in one.

On holiday in Portofino, Italy, she flounced around in her super-glamorous, strapless maxi.

It seems Paris is having an amazing summer holiday sailing around the Med.In a recent Twitter post, she posted a pic of the pretty fishing village, alongside the comment: ‘Portofino is such a beautiful place.’

We’re loving the fact that the maxi dress has been re-invented as a holiday essential and a strapless version is perfect for sightseeing and hot summer evenings.
